New single / fundraiser: “How Near, How Far”

As someone who has spent a bit of time studying food security policy, I know that food insecurity (lack of access to food due to financial conditions) is a major issue that currently affects over 4 million Canadians. So when The Film Factory challenged me to donate a bag of food to the Central Okanagan Community Food Bank, I decided to put a bit of a spin on the challenge. In addition to making my own donation, I decided to release a new song and donate all of the proceeds from the sale of the song to the food bank as well. The song is an ambient guitar piece that is meant to act as a reflection on those little contradictions we experience all the time: near and far, familiar and unfamiliar, hopelessness and hope. You can get the song right here for $1 (or more) and help support the food bank yourself. Also, if you want more information on food insecurity in Canada, I encourage you to check out the resources provided by the University of Toronto at: http://proof.utoronto.ca/
